I believe I have done this correct and I was able to convert MKV to Mp4 but am I doing it correctly?
1. Use MKVExtractGUI to open MKV video and extract into .h264 video, .audio, .chapter/txt
(Here is where I am iffy about)
2. Use My Mp4Box GUI:
A) MUX => Add .h264 video=> MUX into video.MP4 (Default settings- same FPS)
B) Then MUX add .Audio=> audio.MP4 (Default settings, same FPS)
C) Then click on Join and join Video.mp4 + Audio.mp4 => Finished converted MP4 video
It seems to work, but when I click on Join, it says 'Formats do not match, errors may occur.' So this is where I am wondering... Am I doing it correctly?
Thanks in advance.
Step 4: remux MKV to MP4. Click the tab'format', and select 'MP4' Caution: it would lose quality to some extent that you'll not distinguish and it is a little time-consuming. Method 3: Harness Ffmpeg to remux MKV to MP4. Ffmpeg is an audio/video encoding tool and it can handle multiple tasks. It's lossless when you remux your file format from. When mkvtoolnix remuxes the mp4 file this flag is lost because such a flag doesn't exist for mkv. Nothing you can do except re-encode the video or stick to mp4. Yamb is also failing to do the same, so sticking with MP4 and doing any lossless change is not an option. While talking about the best MKV merging tools, you have to mention one of the most comprehensive merging tool – MKVToolNix. Actually, MKXToolNix is a set of tools that have been used to create, alter, split, join, merger, inspect MKV files with good quality retained. With mkvmerge, you can. correct aspect ratio issues in the header, no re-encoding necessary. add/remove audio tracks. add/remove subtitles (.sub and.srt). append videos. add images (fan art?, etc). add text files (NFO, TXT) Why would anyone want to convert from the fantastic container, MKV, into the older, lacking, MP4 container? Once you start mkvmerge from the shortcut on the Windows Start Menu you may be a little intimidated by the number of options. However, in reality the program is quite intuitive, and you don't need to understand the advanced features to take advantage of its basic muxing feature. Part 3. FAQs of MKV Merge
1. Can I merge MKV files with HandBrake?
When it comes to converting and editing videos, many people may think of HandBrake. But unfortunately, it doesn’t support merging videos at present. So, the answer is no. You cannot use HandBrake to merge MKV files. If you want to merge media files, you can try the methods we have introduced - Aiseesoft Video Converter Ultimate and MKVToolNix.
2. What is mkvmerge?
It is part of the MKVToolNix package. Mkvmerge can help you merge different multimedia files and save them as one MKV file. But it is a command-line program, which can be hard for some users to operate. So, here comes mkvmerge GUI (also known as mmg), a simpler version of mkvmerge with an intuitive interface, which makes the combination much easier.
3. Does MKVToolNix reduce quality?
No, MKVToolNix does not reduce the video quality of your files after multiplexing. If your video is in high resolution, you’d better use a professional HD video player to play the files. Otherwise, there may be quality loss during the playback.
